Vârghiș/Vargyas Gorge Hike | Perșani–Rika Mountains

The limestone gorge of the Vârghiș Creek, with its mysterious caves, towering cliffs, and rich wildlife, is one of the hidden gems of the Perșani–Rika Mountains. On the last Saturday of June, we invite you to an easy yet exciting hike in the Vargyas Gorge Nature Reserve.
During the hike, we will cross numerous suspension bridges and explore the Șura Cailor Cave, Orbán Balázs Cave, Gaura Tătarilor Cave, and Șura de Piatră Cave. We will search for the most beautiful viewpoints along the gorge, taste the crystal-clear spring water, and discover the ruins of the Tătar Chapel. After the hike, we will finish the day with a well-deserved serving of delicious pancakes.
