The Bánffy vineyard

The Bánffy vineyard

About

The baron Bánffy Dezső owned a vineyard in Breaza, near Reghin, and a lot of fir forests in Toplița. In jest, his friends offered to come and pick the grapes, but in Toplița. The baron's answer was this: he nicely tied bundles of grapes to the branches of the fir trees, and kindly asked his friends to pick them, to keep their word. Since that time, that side of the Tarniţa mountain has been named Bánffy's Vineyard.
