The menu features archaic dishes from Gyimes, prepared exclusively from local ingredients. Beyond the culinary experience, guests can get an up-close look at this enchanting world through the “Seeing is Believing” program. During a pleasant hiking tour, participants can gain insight into daily life in Gyimes farming while admiring the beauty of the landscape. At the end of the walk, they can relax in a traditional mountain cabin (“kaliba”), where the silence of nature provides true rejuvenation. The local gastronomic point "Vatra Strămoșească" has opened its doors to the public in the picturesque commune of Sărmaș. The dining venue warmly welcomes all those who carry in their hearts the nostalgic longing for homemade dishes "made in Grandma's kitchen." The hosts wholeheartedly and convincingly invite visitors to their table, where tradition is alive, the food has soul, and every single guest becomes part of the large family. The venue's goal is the shared savoring of joy, and the belief that time spent at the table contributes to the forging of lifelong friendships. Table reservations require prior booking by phone. 

Visitors can step into the realm of pure flavors and authentic traditions at the ”Bunătățile Băciței” Local Gastronomic Point, right in the heart of Sărmaș! This is not just an eatery, it is described as a journey into the soul of Transylvanian shepherd cuisine, where the gift of nature meets meticulously preserved recipes. Here, every bite is said to bring back the taste of childhood, proving that the most memorable experiences are born from the simplest ingredients. The cornerstone of the kitchen is lamb meat, which is used to prepare unforgettable dishes, carefully spiced and following local traditions. Special attention is also paid to the treasures of the forest: fresh, carefully selected wild mushrooms from the surrounding woods—Boletus, Honey Fungus, and Chanterelles —enrich the menu, cleaned with care and transformed into delicious meals. The deepest flavor experience is offered by the rustic potatoes baked in embers, whose smoky aroma evokes the genuine, original shepherd fires. To complement these, the establishment offers its artisanal sourdough bread (pita), prepared using traditional methods, its taste carrying the warmth of a grandmother's kitchen. ”Bunătățile Băciței” Local Gastronomic Point  is presented as the meeting point for the delicacies of the past, present, and future. Our local gastronomy point welcomes guests with a family-like atmosphere and flavors characteristic of the Ciuc/Csík region. Our dishes are prepared from local, mostly homegrown ingredients, following traditional recipes. Guests can take part in communal activities such as baking lángos, cooking in a cauldron, or grilling, and they can taste local delicacies such as pork feast specialties, crispy pork knuckle, trout, and many other mouthwatering dishes. Welcome to our Local Gastronomic Point! You can taste our traditional products made from 100% Mangalica (Hungarian breed of domestic pig) from our own farm in our small gastropoint.
