The optional quality terms called “mountain product” is a scheme recognised on European level, which confirms the fact that processed and unprocessed food are coming from the mountain area, from high quality raw materials and are high quality food.
The right of use of the optional quality terms “mountain product” was given by The National Agency of Mountain Area, trough territorial structure, and the Mountain Development Office Toplita.
The Szekler Product trademark is a brand name and certification system established in 2009 by the Harghita County Council, with the aim of distinguishing traditional agricultural and handicraft products made in Szeklerland, supporting their market access, and providing protection alongside proper consumer information.
Following the official registration of the trademark, the organization of local product fairs began in 2010, serving as one of the most important practical implementations of the Szekler Product movement. These events not only provided free monthly sales opportunities for local farmers and artisans, but also contributed to strengthening community identity and increasing awareness of products from Szeklerland.

Local Gastronomic Points are units represented by private kitchens in country houses where culinary products are prepared and served according to recipes specific to the area. The ingredients come from the service providers’ own farms or from supply units that comply with animal health and food safety provisions.
