The Harghita Community Development Association (ADI Harghita) was founded in 2009 at the initiative of the Harghita County Council and with the support of 45 local administrations. The goal of ADI Harghita is to create and maintain long-term cooperations with the county’s local administrations and organizations working in the field of tourism, carrying out national and international projects, the purpose of which is to improve tourism, as well as maintain culture and the environment. At the same time, the association’s goal is also to protect the environment, popularize the county’s tourism, as well as launching services pertaining to the development of these. Since 2018, ADI Harghita also holds conferences and training courses to help the work, information and development of workers in the field of tourism, as well as people interested in tourism.

The Development Agency of Harghita County was established based on County Council Decision no. 322/2015, with headquarters in Miercurea Ciuc. The main objective of the Agency is to contribute, through its activities and elaborated programs, to the development of the county, and, if required, to the organization of professional background-work related to the activity of the Council. According to County Council Decision no. 131/2016, the Agency can have one office in the following municipalities: Odorheiu Secuiesc, Gheorgheni and Toplita, so that the activities cover all the micro-regions of the county. The Agency is an open institution in development which, through its promoter and mediator role, helps local initiatives to materialize, collaborates with relevant agents in a well-balanced developmental process of the county, and if needed, contributes to the concentration of national and international resources oriented on the region's development, as well as to the improvement of the efficiency of local investments. The Agency's programs are meant to help Harghita county become a more entrepreneur-friendly region, to stimulate applications for external funds, support investments and innovations in the region, to stimulate the spirit of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs, the realization of plans which cover the whole region, and finally, to offer useful information on developing enterprises. The Agency's employees are motivated, mostly young economists, who use free and open-source software (Linux, LibreOffice, Drupal, etc.), based on the principle of cost-efficient work.

Agenția Națională a Zonei Montane, este o instituție publică, cu personalitate juridică, finanțată integral de la bugetul de stat, aflată în subordinea Ministerului Agriculturii și Dezvoltării Rurale și cu atribuții specifice de reprezentare în numele Ministerului Agriculturii și Dezvoltării Rurale pentru zona montană. Misiunea principală a instituției o reprezintă elaborarea și aplicarea strategiei și politicilor Guvernului în domeniul dezvoltării și protecției zonei montane din România, zonă marcată de specificitate, fragilă ecologic și defavorizată economico-social din cauze naturale, care necesită o gestiune specifică, conform Legii nr. 197 din 20 iulie 2018 – Legea Muntelui. Activitatea Agenției Naționale a Zonei Montane este reglementată prin Hotărârea Guvernului nr. 1036/2018 pentru organizarea și funcționarea Agenției Naționale a Zonei Montane prin reorganizarea Agenției Zonei Montane, precum și pentru stabilirea unor măsuri privind centrele regionale și oficiile de dezvoltare montană. Agenția Națională a Zonei Montane este prezentă în teritoriul național prin structuri funcționale, organizate în rețeaua de centre regionale de dezvoltare montană și oficii de dezvoltare montană, începând cu anul 2019.

The Codex Early Music Ensemble was founded in 1996 by music teachers and students of the Faculty of Music, Transilvania University of Brașov. Their main goal is to give an authentic and living performance of the Hungarian (especially Transylvanian) and European music from the 17th-19th c., using copies of period instruments. The Tusnad Spa Touristic Association has been founded by the local hospitality entrepreneurs. The orgaization runs the local touristic information center. During the Winter season the association operates the local Skislope. Great Paitball Parties are organized during the summer by the organization. Tusnad Spa's Touristic programmes: bus trips, train excursion to Lake Saint Ana and in the city, forest trip with the tracked amfibious vehicle, horse carriage tours, jeep off road tours

The main goal of the Folk Társ Association is to learn, preserve and nurture Hungarian folk culture, folk tradition (folk dance, folk music, folk songs). To popularize folk dance and folk music, organize folk music courses and dance houses. Organize free time programs for spending leisure time for cultural purposes.

Asociația Gránátalma să se accentueze faptul că execuția acestei tip de brodare o facem cu un devotament maxim, fiind cea mai complexă formă de broderie, considerată și Hungarikum. Lucrările brodate sunt fidele privind mărimea, compoziția și armonia modelelor, alegerea culorilor a firelor de brodat precum și finețea lor. Noi nu brodăm modele inventate de noi ci numai acele care s-a realizat în era renascentistă sau barocă. Expoziția cu patul cu baldachin renascentist a fost vizitat de circa 300-350 excursioniști ardeleni, vreo 500-550 turiști din Depresiunea Carpatică și peste 1000 de elevi din Depresiunea Giurgeului.

ASOCIAŢIA GREEN ZONE are ca scop facilitarea – dezvoltarea socio-economică a regiunii prin respectarea principiilor dezvoltării durabile: protejarea eficientă a mediului şi a biodiversităţii; promovarea surselor alternative de energie; promovarea parteneriatului şi a voluntariatului la nivel regional; creşterea capacităţii administrative a autorităţilor administraţiei publice locale; creşterea transparenţei deciziilor autorităţilor administraţiei publice şi a participării civice. Activități: Promovarea dialogului, ecologismului, solidarităţii şi a economiei sustenabile în rândul persoanelor tinere prin organizarea de evenimente. (conferinţe, seminarii, tabere de vară, concursuri şi competiţii sportive) Protecţia mediului înconjurător şi promovarea surselor alternative de energie la nivel local şi regional prin educarea cetăţenilor în domeniul protecţiei mediului înconjurător şi prin realizarea de parteneriate în vederea organizării de acţiuni în domeniul protecţiei mediului.

Plant, Act, Transform – we are the SAT Association and we aim to develop rural communities through alternative education, culture, sports, and tourism. 

Mary’s Way or Via Maria is a spiritual way for tourists. It is a also pilgrim`s way, built by the nations of Central Europe to the honour of Mary, but it also connects the shrines of Mary, without interfering with any historical, cultural, or religious differences. The aim is to build up a unified pilgrim`s way between the different religious traditions of Central Europe, and to create a network between these places. Mary’s Way builds a connection in the East-West direction between the Austrian Mariazell, Budapest, Máriapócs and Csíksomlyó, and in the North – South direction between Czestochowa, Esztergom, Budapest, and Medjugorje. The way draws a large cross upon the map of Central Europe (Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Croatia, and Bosnia) and creates a traditional pilgrimage network, similar to El Camino. Mary’s Way invites everybody. It waits for everyone – irrespective of nationality, or religion – everyone who would like to make the pilgrimage because of spiritual, religious, or even just personal reasons of conscience, and it even waits for those who would like to come simply on holiday or for sporting purposes. The way will be a bridge between religions and people connecting East and West, North and South and will become the Central and East European Way of Reconciliation`. Our hope is that in the future it will become a part of the cultural life of Europe.

Borsec lies in a wide valley surrounded by the forested mountains of the Gurghiu, Bistrița, and Călimani ranges, at an altitude between 850 and 930 meters above sea level. It is accessible via National Road DN15 from Toplița, a route that connects Transylvania with Moldavia. The nearest train station is in Toplița, 27 km away. Nearby airports include Târgu Mureș (141 km), Cluj-Napoca (191 km), Bacău (190 km), and Iași (200 km). Thanks to its microclimate, fresh ozone-rich air, and its remarkable flora and fauna, Borsec is one of Romania’s most sought-after tourist destinations. Visitors are mainly drawn by the mineral waters, the Fontana Spa, drinking cures, the ski slope, the summer bobsled track, and the breathtaking natural beauty of the surrounding area. Emperor Franz Joseph once called Borsec mineral water “The Queen of Mineral Waters.” The town’s development and the large-scale commercialization of its mineral waters are linked to two Austrian citizens, Günther and Zimmethausen, who leased the area in 1806. They began bottling the mineral water in glass bottles of their own production and presenting it at various international fairs, from which they returned with diplomas, medals, and certificates. These, along with other period documents, can be viewed in the Mineral Water Museum.

The Gheorgheni Cultural Center was established in 2002, and belongs to the Local Government. We organise cultural and other events. Our aim is the cultural life organization and coordination in the city and the basin. Our motto is: ‘Community and culture, is the gauge of the future.’ During the year, we are leaders and organizers of more than 50 events. The Cultural Center of Harghita County is the successor of the House of Folklore Creation of Harghita County, which was established in 1968. At present the Center is an institution of Harghita County Council, and functions as a separate legal entity. It is a scientific and methodological center of the cultural activities in Harghita county. The Institute helps the local governments’ cultural work, as well as the local society’s various cultural and public organisations. Its task is to collect, to search, to preserve and to promote the County’s cultural values and traditions.
